[ Apparently distrustful of the actual messaging system, when called back Squalo will suggest meeting in some darker corner as far away from the hotel, staff demons and Lucifer's manor as they can get without dying to something awful. ]
[ When he's relatively sure they're not being eavesdropped (if only), he'll recite what he's learned from the prisoners in the basement, word for word. ]
(It's been some time since Noct has seen Thor, and he reflects on that as he sets Thor's present before his door. It wasn't too difficult to find Thor's residence and he was pleased to find out the other lived with his brother. It was information volunteered to him by the demons working up front in the lobby. In any case, there's a card that says to Thor from Noctis and inside the gift Thor will find a shark figurine.)
[He had been surprised to come to his room and find the figurine waiting for him -- Noctis had been pleasant company, but they've both missed each other one way or another lately.
But he's rather... touched by it all the same, and he won't let it go unnoticed.]
Noctis! I found your gift.
[these devices have their use when you don't have any clue where someone might spend most their time.]
[Once the demons start offering to bring people on a hike outside their usual boundaries, Fitz is fully onboard. He doesn't trust that it won't end in being stranded in a hellscape somewhere, though, and he makes it a point to be prepared before he goes. He messages Thor and arranges to meet, assuming it won't take much convincing to get an Asgardian out to face adventure. When he arrives, he's got a backpack filled with supplies, water bottles and enough snacks to last. It's best to be prepared, he thinks, even if the thing looks like it weighs about as much as he does. He greets Thor just before they're set to meet, nodding hello.]
Thanks for coming out. I hope I'm not taking you away from anything important.
I can hardly think of anything more important, my friend.
[Perhaps he should have gathered as much as Fitz had, but Thor shows up only in his armor, Stormbreaker in hand just in case. It's a hike after all -- it shouldn't require much in the way of supplies.
It has been a full year since Hell has been redone and made even greater than ever before. And you, my prized guest, have made it twelve months in your journey towards redemption. I know that there have been bumps along the way and we haven't always seen eye to eye, but I do wish to show my gratitude. Together, we will all leave Hell one day.
I have handpicked gifts specifically for you to commemorate this anniversary. I do hope you enjoy them.
An offer to help lead a group to guard Penance against future threats with members of his choosing.
A short vision of a future where Thor is king of Asgard and Loki is at his side. This will come with a promise of it becoming reality once Thor's debt is paid.
An offer to return his eye to normal so he won't have to wear the prosthetic any longer.
Again, I thank you for all of your help in making Hell what it is today.
[ loki paces, feeling like a wild animal. the urge to lash out, to hurt something, someone was building up inside of him. it was the first trickle of hope he had felt since coming here and he wanted it. ]
[There was a time when Fitz and Thor were quite close. The community was smaller then, and there was less to do. The way things are on Mammon's island, it's almost like going back in time. They're kept far from the greater politics of Hell. There aren't as many opportunities to focus. It's like time's stopped. Perhaps that's what brought Fitz outdoors today, lingering not far from the tavern. For him, it's incidental; it's struck him as nice weather to read outdoors. More palatable, somehow, than the awful draft inside the proper housing.
He spots Thor nearby, and acknowledges him with a small wave. It's been a while, but perhaps it's been so long that they oughtn't bother one another with irreverence. Fitz imagines Thor's found much to occupy himself.]
[It has been-- quite some time. It seems something always comes up to prevent them from meeting under any normal terms. Between Barbas and the war and everything else, this is the first time Thor has felt other to just breathe in a very long time.
But there's no lack of warmth when he notices the other man and approaches him with a nod of his head.]
[The warmth is surprising, and much more than what Fitz had been expecting. He's a little startled to have so much Thor so quickly, and it makes his chest ache. This isn't the greeting he imagined he deserved, especially not after what Loki said.]
I've had worse days. But you look good. Haven't gone and grown horns or anything. [It's a shame that that's what passes for 'good' in this place.] Though I'm certain your physiology has more than a little to do with that.
[Is there any reason to lack warmth for a friend? Even one he hasn't seen properly in quite some time. It's still such a short amount for a God really, and Thor hardly ever forgets his friends.]
Ah-- [There's a laugh huffed out.] Not yet at least.
voice message+action; @superbia; hope this works!

Perfect!
And how do we know if they can be trusted? They were desperate.

We don't. But so far it's the only piece of anything we've come across. I'm willing to take my chances and look into it.

Do you think we'll need all of that?

I brought a thermos with your favorite mead. In case you get a bit antsy without it in a few hours.

Did you? [It was a small gesture, but one that has Thor reaching out with his free hand to give the other's shoulder a squeeze.]
Perhaps we can share it once we have a break then.
